"Great value hotel, close to city centre. Rooms are lovely, large, and so comfortable. Breakfast on the expensive side, but good choice. This is maybe my 5th visit here, never have any issues. Friendly reception staff too!"

"Compact but clean and comfortable and excellent value. Only a single 13amp socket, at ground level, near the door. Fortunately, we always travel with an extension lead and a multiple usb charger. Unintended amusement was provided by a printed appeal to save energy, which has clearly been translated from French by someone whose native language is not English."

"Stayed in the courtyard area, had lovely views over the fields at the back. The room itself was a good size, comfortable bed and storage facilities were all of a good standard, just the bathroom needed a little updating as a bit tired. The breakfast was very good (perfect poached eggs) also had our dinner there a couple of times and the food again was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just 3 miles from Durham City Centre and surrounded by some stunning scenery . Would definitely stay...

"Room 386 is classed accessible but it is furthest from reception and the lift. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties due to the ridiculous distance from the lift. "

"A long weekend with the family. The location was ideal for all our needs. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The only negative was limited plug sockets in the room (2). Everything else was perfect."

"Really enjoyed my stay here as a gay couple we were made to feel welcomed . The staff were very friendly, wee took our dogs to the hotel and was very handy that they could also stay . The hotel location was perfect , quite easy to find , would actually love to live and work here . Newcastle is such a great place . Would highly recommend visiting. "
