Lovely Stay only had one problem went for our breakfast this morning and we couldn’t get a table the staff said there would clean a table but waited a while and there never cleaned it so had to leave and pay for breakfast again somewhere else i told reception when i left.

This hotel is situated right across from the railway station so that was the main reason we chose it. It is also not far from the main shopping area and Eldon Square. The room was clean and large enough for a two night stay. We had a problem with the toilet not flushing but once I'd notified reception, it was fixed within 10 minutes. Reception staff very helpful. We didn't do breakfast or dinner at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Drinks are expensive but it's what is expected. all in all a good hotel and I'd stay again.

Everything is good except for the thermostat of the shower. It doesn't work. Hot water will only come after turning on the tab of the bath tub. It technically works differently but it wastes water and effort to get it sorted.

The hotel was in a convenient location right across the street from the train station. The 24 hour dining options were not available 24 hours and the restaurants around the hotel closed early. The phone in the room was not connected and the room keys stopped working during our stay. There is a £50 deposit per night and you might have to check in with the doorman each time you come back to the hotel at night. The coffee was very bad and undrinkable. However, the self-serve breakfast was good. The bed was two twin mattresses pushed together so for two people it was uncomfortable to share. The staff were friendly but not very helpful. The room was very clean but hard to find.

What was good? Central location, nice old building. One of the staff, Paul, was a complete star trying his best to sort out a problem. Yet, it feels like a hotel that has lost its way. The outside windows are filthy, the facilities a bit shabby. I wasted a chunk of time because the door lock just stopped working so I was locked out of my room. I can't recommend it because it just doesn't deserve its star rating. It's 'not bad' at best.

The location of this property was wonderful. Close to transportation and many food options. Staff were very attentive. We stayed in the Aparthotel section of this property, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and large, open kitchen-living area. Only criticism is that the carpets and living area sofas need replacement.

Lovely hotel, our room was very small but we only stayed one night so was adequate, nice selection in mini bar but a bit expensive so we didn’t use, the room we had could do with upgrading, a bit grubby round the edges, paint flaking from skirting boards and some nasty stains on the carpet, our window looked out onto a car park to the back of the hotel so little street noise, the room was also very warm but there was a fan provided

I stayed for one night with my daughter in a city twin room. This hotel is very well positioned across from the train station and a stones throw from all the shops. Lovely room, very clean, comfortable beds, lovely shower. We had breakfast the next morning and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I’d fully recommend staying here.
