"Our stay at Oglebay was wonderful from start to finish. We booked a vacation for ourselves, our 20 month old and my parents. It was perfect. The restaurant and its staff were professional and accommodating. The hotel staff was fantastic. We had a problem with our room heater and they changed the whole unit within the hour! The pool area was wonderful and we swam 2x a day. We took our son to the environmental center, the horse stables and on a stroller walk on the gorgeous property through the snow when it warmed up a tiny bit. Route 88 Burgers was great for dinner one night. We didn’t visit the zoo because it was too cold out (10-20 degrees all week) but I’m sure it’s great. We stayed on the first floor of the Byrd wing close to the pool and our baby monitor even reached the Hickman Lounge area, so the adults were able to play cards, sit in front of the fire place, and visit when my son was napping or after he went to bed. All in all, a perfect, relaxing stay. We would love to return in the summer months and stay in a cottage or chalet and use the outdoor pool complex too. We highly recommend Oglebay for families! "

"The only issues I had was the elevator was next to my room and had a bad squeak to it. The shower was very nice but the water got warm, but not hot! "

"I did know what to expect from the driveway in needs repaved badly, exterior made me wonder if it was open, but inside was very nice. Check in lady was superb, room is clean, restaurant in site is closed I guess, needs a chef if anyone is looking. Restroom clean but whoever did the remodel should be fired because their professional finish looks like a first year construction trades trainee did the job. But over nice so far."

"Lobby left a lot to be desired. Hotel is definitely not handicapped accessible. Lobby doors don’t open automatically and you have to climb a set of steps (no elevator), even when your room is on the first floor. Stayed here, in part, because of the free breakfast, but it wasn’t really worth eating. But the bed was comfortable and there were lots of pillows. I had a good night’s sleep which is really all that matters."

"Booked a last minute room to be close to the airport before a winter storm was predicted to hit! This was definitely a great stay. Beautiful hotel. For the first time we took advantage of a hotels front sitting area to enjoy the cozy fire they had and some drinks from the bar. Room and beds were comfortable and the airport shuttle was a huge plus!"
