"We were late to arrive (the desk closed at 22:30 and we had traffic issues). The Hotel kindly called me twice to ask how things were and then to say they had checked me in and they would leave the key under the mat so that I could get to my room. Breakfast was very good and the staff were really great. The room itself was cold when we arrived, the room was large and the radiator was small... I do appreciate we arrived late (something I had put in the notes when booking) but the room radiator...

"Good value for money. Not the most up to date decor but staff were friendly, it is in a good location and with a Hungry Horse as part of the hotel well worth the money. Don't expect the Ritz for the cost of the stay."

"The whole of the personnel at THE RISING SUN worked as a team to make our stay [my wife and I] a memorable one from our welcome with a beaming smile on Wedensday just after 2 to our departure today [Friday] just before 10. On our first evening there were two problems with our room - a faulty light and curtains that let the light in BUT BOTH were immediately fixed to everyone's satisfaction - fabulous! "Lovely real ale country pub with rooms. Very rustic but with all home comforts and little extras. Great view over countryside with cows grazing nearby. Breakfast freshly cooked and generous portions. Used as overnight stay following wedding at Crowcombe court (5 mins walk) but also great for walkers etc exploring the Exmoor area. Highly recommend "
