Ocean Breeze at Colony by the Sea. A GREAT place to relax and enjoy life!

"We were very pleased with our stay during the Thanksgiving holiday as well as our daughter's 15th birthday! The unit had everything that you could imagine from an immense movie library to board games. The only thing that I might mention is that the unit needs a severe deep clean."

"Mother- daughter trip for senior week. The house was a nice, spacious, and affordable rental, nearby the town of Duck, with a 10 -15 minute walk to the beach. Check in and check out were easy. Neighborhood pool was nice with areas of sun and shade. Beach access was very private and the beach wasn't overly busy even on the weekend. Perfect for a small family getaway, complex had a playground, pool, easy beach access, and applicable parking. Shops/ restaurants close by, and views were amazing. "Whole place is so outdated and old. Needs a major makeover. Things are broken, missing handles, doors and drawers don’t open or close. Very disappointing. Would never stay here again or recommend to anyone "

This classic 5-Bedroom, 4-Bathroom home in Duck is located on one of the best semi-oceanfront lots in the community.

"The property really needs TLC.. many lightbulbs were burned out, furniture torn or soiled, broken windows with duct tape, curtain rods about to fall off……master bedroom was nice, but the mattress needed replaced. Felt like i was sleeping in a hole. The walk to the beach was short and the location is perfect.. the hot tub was very nice and we enjoyed it . I would not book this house again, unless updates were made."

Hotels near Other Jarvisburg Attractions

One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze.

Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Thanksgiving Beach

"Great property. Was as listed. Very clean and well equipped! We cooked a full Thanksgiving meal for a family of .8 and had every dish, pot, etc that was needed! There was even a Christmas tree ❤️. We had the best Thanksgiving and made many memories with our whole crew. Thank you for sharing your home!"

"House was large and comfortable. Wonderful proximity to the beach. Close enough to store that having to run out for something was not a big deal. Theres a playground in the neighborhood to walk to. Hot tub was nice! Kitchen was fully Mtocked. It felt like we had what we needed.. my family had a great time."

"We stayed at this property with our daughter’s family and a few friends. Beautiful home in a beautiful location. It worked out well for our trip that really wasn’t a beach vacation. The only complaint would be that the bathroom on the lower floor had spider webs that needed to be broomed out of the shower and other areas before we could use it. There were cobwebs too in the main floor great room upper walls that were very noticeable and not exponential a higher end rental. I did not call on these things since we arrived later and decided to just clean up the spider webs so we could use the shower. "

Oceanside luxury in Pine Island with private pool, hot tub, and game room

Not very clean

"We checked in on Thursday, September 26; called that night to report 2 tvs not working (and it wasn't wifi), texted about the tvs again on the 27th...never heard from anyone about the tvs. One toilet would not flush, someone finally came about 13 hours before check out. There were ants in the kitchen all around the stove and the glass top on the stove was cracked. We killed 3 spiders (2 WERE IN 2 DIFFERENT BEDS!!). Overall, the house was just not clean; it seems it has been neglected for several months now. Very disappointing."
