"I stayed for one quick night at this hotel and I was blown away by the hospitality and helpfulness. I was down in thar area competing in a sports event and the reception staff on the night I arrived and the morning I left could not have been better. There was obvious communication between staff members which often is lost in the big chain hotels these days. Would love to return and sample the restaurant food and actually sit for breakfast."

"We stayed at The Station Hotel purely because of its proximity to the railway station but found it such an enjoyable experience that we are already planning a return visit. It is an old building, part of the historic centre of the city, and at the moment there is a certain amount of traffic disruption because of a genera[ upgrading of the area but we were not ina car and were not effected by this, Very friendly, helpful staff bit on the desk and around the hotel. Tajnk you for a lovely visit. "

"Hotel was absolutely amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for you, our room (26) was perfect, balcony that looked out onto the castle and the music in the drawing room made a perfect castle atmosphere, breakfast was lovely and the staff even do a guided tour of the place with history information and even a video when you get onto the castle roof, would definitely stay again."

"Still the best of the Days Inn on the M6/M74 that we have stayed in. Apart from the up-to-date condition, there are TWO chairs and a CEILING light which both add hugely to the enjoyment of our stay. Dim hotel rooms are unfortunately so common these days, so thank you Days Inn Gretna for bucking the trend! An added bonus is the wider range of facilities available in the adjacent service area"

"This is an old style hotel with huge public spaces and big staircases but the rooms are very comfortably equipped. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee maker, TV with a big bathroom with bath and shower. Although it's in the centre of town next to the bars and nightlife, I had a comfortable quiet night because the building is stone and well insulated. It's 100m from the railway station at the top of the strip which has bars and restaurants - it has it's own bar and restaurant as well. It was also a great price and one of the cheapest in Carlisle. A really good price for a really good hotel."
