"Fantastic 3 days spent at the Beaumont. It’s our 4th visit and as ever it’s a great way to re- energise in a relaxing environment with such friendly staff. The Northumberland gastronomy that the menu provides is very clever and an explosion of local flavours is backed up with an array of well selected wines - Albariño albeit Spanish or Portuguese is recommended. Take the time to enjoy this beautiful boutique hotel but don’t ignore the history of the town of Hexham and neighbouring enclaves. A visit to the Abbey crypt is well worth the large stepped decent and a trawl through the local antiques often uncovers a gem or two. "This is my 4th visit to this excellent hotel, always on a one night stay as I am taking the Carlisle to Settle train the next day (must see!). This hotel is a great place to stay, the staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and I always get a great nights sleep here. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the station, the building is quite old and has a lot of character. Incredible value for money and well located I never consider staying anywhere else if I am staying in Carlisle. The breakfast at 10.50 pounds is well worth the money. "
