"Extended my stay because it felt right there. Friendly and really helpful staff, really good breakfast on the verandah, great location and price. Could use a little TLC in places but that’s outweighed by everything else."

"Nice place to stay. Comfortable clean rooms. I thought for this price they may make the beds. I also asked for a special request that the said they could do, but they didnt end up doing it... It was flowers on the bed for my girlfriends birthday. Then we asked if we could have one more breakfast as we were still hungry as compensation for not having power for the day and then they said no, which wasnt a big deal. Just thought they may do that. The serving staff were very nice."

"Worst service I never had this experience before any other hotel I book one room they give one and receptionist behave like very rude and I went shopping then I come back receipt said time over but I have time until 15 hrs left then we fight finally he gave one small room .I thought he give my room to any other people I pay 12000 LKR but service like a zero very worst and rude receptionist "

"Beautiful Geoffrey Bowa- designed boutique hotel set in a beautifully tended garden. This is our second stay & it didnt disappoint. The staff remembered us after 4 years! Very good service, excellent breakfasts & evening meal. There is a train line running along the bottom of the garden and the train clanks along it every hour or so. We loved the quirkiness of it. "The hotel is convenient to the beach, dining and the airport. The staff and especially Mr. Gomez were extremely kind and helpful. They arranged a very early 4am car to the airport. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended way to start or end your stay in Sri Lanka. "

"Lovely hotel in a historic house with impeccable service. It has been recently refurbished and under new owners who have done a magnificent job. We stayed in the Dumas suite which has a balcony where you can watch birds and monkeys with a cup of morning tea. The serene gardens and swimming pool are a delight. "Nice place, friendly couple own it. It is up a big hill, take the taxi the first time, the owner will show you the short cut which is easier than the road. Basic room, no AC but the fan was enough when I was there."

"Fantastic stay at Marvel Hills. Sarath is the perfect host, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast offerings were plentiful both traditional and western. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Sarath organised a TukTuk for us for a day with a friendly local. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning. "

"Not usually a review scribe but sometimes you just feel compelled to. 5 stars does not do justice to Dinesh and family. Immaculately clean, helpful to a fault, nothing is too difficult to organize on your behalf and OMG the breakfast is more fit for a king than us minions.
