The city center appears free from issues like drugs, violence, and homelessness. Low railings on the bridge and no barriers on metro tracks. Located near the Douro River and Dom Luis Bridge, with access to Vila Nova de Gaia. Main attractions are about a 20-minute uphill walk away, including São Bento station, Clérigos Tower, University of Porto, and Lello Bookstore. I suggest to take Uber/Bolt instead of walking. About 3-5 euros. Transportation:Bolt is cheaper - Taxi from Campanhã station: 10 euros - Bolt to Campanhã station: 3.09 euros (7-10 minute ride) - Taxi to São Bento station: 5 euros Taxi drivers were friendly but spoke little English. Bolt driver spoke English. Staff were friendly, some knowledgeable, some not. Room: - Upgrade not mentioned at check-in but it appears we got one, we were looking for a microwave we got a kitchen! - We booked a river view, great view! Bonus balcony! - No noise, we were in front of an elevator. - Spacious and well-laid out - Amenities: lotion, shampoo, conditioner, ionic hair dryer - Free bottle of wine (traded for water) - We had good sleep!
