"The home was a wonderful place to rest after a cold day of hiking. It was immaculate and cozy! The kitchen had everything you could need and more. We had a small issue with the check in but Anna responded immediately and even drove over to make sure that everything was okay. We would definitely stay here again!"

"The check-in process was super easy, all automated. You do have to pay for parking but we used the garage which was a block away and it was 12 for the day. The place was very modern and clean. The location was great, about a block off the pedestrian mall. There are 3 restaurants right next to the house, if you needed a quick bite, It was quiet during our stay and we had a great experience. I would defy stay here again! "

"The cleaning crew was just finishing up as we arrived and they were so nice and, most importantly, very thorough with their cleaning. The view of the water was beautiful. The kitchen is the most fully-stocked kitchen we've ever experienced in a rental. We'd definitely come back."

"Overall the place is a nice quiet getaway in the woods. Be prepared for lots of DIY when it comes to the sauna and all other wood burning stove fires. An issue for concern, if you stay in the Shire Suite, the front room is solely heated by the wood burning stove and the ventilation is very limited. VERY smokey throughout our entire stay. Also there’s a tin roof so if it’s raining (it did our whole stay) the noise is REALLY loud making it almost impossible to sleep. Pray for no rain at night....

The great room with huge fireplace and view of the Blue Ridge is perfect for hanging out in the winder, and the big and well-equipped kitchen is excellent for big family dinners.This time, a big winder storm presented some winter challenges, and the host did a great job of making things right. "We had 16 people in our group. The youngest was 12 yo. We had enough space for everyone to spread out and be comfortable and enough space for us to all gather for meals and games. We enjoyed the mountain views and watching the horses. The house could use a decor refresh but overall it was a great stay!"

"Beautiful home with a well-stocked kitchen, gorgeous views, plenty of space, and 30 minutes from Harrisonburg (where many of my group went to college). Host was responsive and even helped me get my jewelry back that I accidentally left behind. "

"There is a lot of charm in this property and this room! Note that the heater in the room struggles to keep up with the cold during the colder months. It was 60 degrees when I woke up one morning, and the heater had been running non-stop all night. Unfortunately, I didn't try the sauna, but it looked awesome!"

"Our stay at the Secluded Zen River Retreat was simply magical! Nestled deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this peaceful escape provided breathtaking views, soothing river sounds, and an abundance of nature. We loved exploring the walking trails, relaxing by the river, and unwinding on the large deck. The open dining area and cozy wood stove made it feel like home. Perfect for nature lovers and anyone seeking tranquility. Highly recommended for a memorable getaway!"

"Our group (5 staying on property) plus a few locals enjoyed a wonderful weekend reunion in Charlottesville. The house was perfect for a large group, not only for sleeping, but also as a base for visiting old UVA haunts, as well as dining on the downtown mall and main street (We walked to both locales - perfect location!)."
