"We planned a snow trip, and while there wasn't any snow directly at the property, a quick 20-minute drive took us to a snowy wonderland where we had a fantastic day. The property itself was spacious, spotless, and comfortably accommodated our large group of 10 people. The home's layout was perfect for a family gathering, and we loved the variety of games and puzzles available to pass the time. The host was incredibly helpful and communicative. We're already looking forward to our next visit! "

"Our family had a wonderful stay at the Lakehouse - spacious, warm, clean and light, beautiful scenery (lake, vineyards, horses). Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, utensils, small appliances, and cooking gear, as well as basic kitchen needs (oil and spices, foil, etc.). We loved the great room, movie night, walks on the property. Tim and staff were quick and attentive to a request for help in re-setting the TV/cable/internet box. Fairly quick drive into Placerville for supplies, wine tasting....

"We stayed at Halcyon House in Amador City. The house was very comfortable for 3 couples. Everything in the house is updated and tasteful. It has a nice outdoor area but was too chilly for us to be outside. It's a very short walk to downtown. Marilee is the most responsive host I've ever worked with on a vacation rental. I hope to return to this house again - it's a special find. "

"This house was amazing it was like staying at a mini museum. Its an old victorian home filled with antiques. It was great because there was centual a/c so we really got to enjoy the home since it was so hot outside. It was everything we expected based on all the details provided. "We had planned on using the house as home base for outdoor activities for 4 adults and 2 teens, but the weather had something else in mind. We experienced rain during much of our visit and had to hole up in the house. However, the fireplace, TV area on the second floor made it a wonderful place to hang out. Highly recommend!"

"The host spared no details when putting this home together. Personal soaps, coffee, extra blankets etc. made for a very comfortable stay. Home was very clean and linens smelled freshly washed. Aside from the home which was all great I was not too keen on the drive to and from on a single lane road, especially at night. Although we aren't unfamiliar driving on mountanous roads, we dont do it everyday so I'd recommend getting there while its still light out if you are like us. "

"I stayed here while in trial in Placerville and it was the perfect home away from home. The area was quiet, and I even had a beautiful buck in my front yard when I arrived. Jason was an incredible host; easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Though the location is a little remote, that's what makes it charming and allows for wonderful wildlife encounters like wild turkeys and even a skunk family. I will definitely stay here again if I have to be back in trial in Placerville!"
