"What a gem!! We stayed for 4 days. Had to readjust our arrival and departure date at last minute due to typhoon Shanshan☹️. They even refunded our last day stay without asking as we had to leave a day earlier due to approaching typhoon.We arrived at midnight by train and the manager met us on site to welcome us and explain everything. "We loved our stay at Gion Kyoto. Even though it is located in a very busy tourist area of Kyoto it is not on a main street and is very quiet. My husband and I both slept great in the very comfortable twin beds. We also had tatami mats with a small table and cushions where we could enjoy small meals and tea. "Property is very nice and all staff, literally all, are helpful and attentive. They have a very good concierge. The only drawbacks are evening visits to the roof deck require a drink purchase or you can’t hang out there and we were unable to bring our friends onto the property. We wanted to visit with our friends from Kyoto without having to go to a busy restaurant or bar. Otherwise, this is a great property. In room Onsen is great. I recommend the Corner King room"
