"Pros: VERY VERY nice hotel with multiple large superb hot spring pools that are easy to hang around in for hours. Also multiple pools that are not heated. Restaurants and breakfast very good. Grounds are enormous with their walking paths and lots and lots of fauna/orchids. Amenities all round are very good. Drive the volcano road on the property itself for the best view in all Arenal of the volcano!!!! Rooms very large and comfortable. Easy drive to town and the national parks. We would book again! Cons: Make sure you do NOT get booked near the new construction - they should not be booking rooms that close!!. This was literally 10 feet from our room and we spent 30mins getting it changed. Rooms have just 2 power outlets for the entire room - bring power adapter. Some Hotel rooms are 50 yds up a very steep hill. Not an issue for us but would be for elderly and if you have to lug large suitcases. "

"This property is amazing because the rooms back up to Arenal volcano. In the morning, we had incredible birdwatching and were able to even see toucans. It’s walkable into town, approximately 2 km. But there are many dining options along the way. My husband and I are vegan and were very happy with our choices. The restaurant in hotel Magic Mountain offered a few vegan options as well. The staff were very helpful and Carlos, at the front desk, arranged tours for us. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a combination of remote feel and walking distance to dining and shopping."

"Amazing view of San Jose, including sparkling lights at night. It is high above the city which drowns out the city noise, yet just a few minutes from the airport. The surrounding trees and flowers make it so pleasant!"

"This is a beautiful property with lush vegetation all around. The "rooms" are actually stand alone cabins. Our room with a King size bed and side bed (for a child or teen, who was not with us), was the largest room we have stayed in - at this price range. The hotel uses the efficiencies of the new digital age, ranging from communicating through What's App with the front desk to inserting the room card key to activate the electricity in the room. "
