"This is the smallest all-inclusive resort we’ve ever stayed at, and we were a little apprehensive about what we would find. We were pleasantly surprised. The food in the veranda buffet was consistently very good, with good variation from day-to-day. The three specialty restaurants were all good with easy scheduling. Not sure if going in January had something to do with that. The facility was spotless, and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again."

"Everything we needed. Well supplied (even though we never cooked). Peaceful and quick walk to the beach which was not crowded like down at the RIU. Check in was smooth. We arrived at 2:30 and went to Viola's for a nice cold beer and appetizers. We had breakfast at Viola's every morning and stopped by there a couple of times for adult beverages. The food was very good. Service was slow at times, but we just chilled. Friendly staff, as well as the front office. Our ride from the airport was a bit stressful. The taxi driver was driving very fast and we drove through some sketchy areas. He was also grumpy. The taxi ride was 50 (plus a tip). The taxi ride back was absolutely wonderful. Dani (Mr. Slim's wife - they own the taxi service) was a pleasure. She drove us back along the water and pointed out some of the historic areas. We walked down to the grocery and liquor store for a few items, which was just about a six minute walk and we had dinner one night at Anthony's which was very good and very popular. The other nights we walked over to Atlantis and went to the comedy club, had dinner at Fish by Jose Andres (which was wonderful) and Carmine's (not impressed - food was cool and came out very quickly). I would definitely stay at Sunrise again. Highly recommended!!! We lucked out with perfect weather every day as well."
