First off let me start off with the way we were treated when we arrived it was awful everyone looked upset and not willing to help at all! We finally get our room around 3:30 we then go downstairs to eat and we are unable to go to the restaurants they said we need a reservation! Well in order to make reservations we needed to download there app we were never informed about that when we checked in on top of that after downloading the app we need to wait 12 hrs for us to be able to make a reservation and on top of that we weren’t able to make reservations they never had any so we spoke to the manager she was nice enough to make reservations for us. Second thing is the food is disgusting all of it! We had a reservation to a steak house they have there and we see roaches running around yes ROACHES!! This just made it worse on top of all the bad customer service we had we would tip to see if we saw a difference but we did not they are all extremely rude and lazy you can see it in there face. My husband and I love to travel and have never had an issue when going to Cancun or the Rui in Cancun this has been beyond the worst resort we have been too! I have to give thank to Rudy and La Linda for there excellent customer service they were the only ones to treat us well! If your thinking is going to this resort please think about it twice it is not worth going here they are terrible! We will never be back to this resort! Please do yourselves a favor and never book here!

This property was one of the worst RIU resorts I have ever been too. The room was dirty with hair and chicken bones on the floor. The restaurant reservation were all booked for the full week. It was honestly the worst experience.

Great for a quick trip. The buffet gets a bit boring and the restaurants are pretty difficult to make reservations for so you get stuck with the same food. Not a ton of activities but maybe things are busy when the weather is nicer. It was a bit inconvenient to not have a market on site for things like Advil or a quick snack.

Our stay at the Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island was excellent. This was an 11 day getaway for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All of the restaurants and the buffet our first class. The staff is incredibly friendly and we felt very comfortable there. The location right on the beach with the Atlantic ocean in front of you is wonderful. We enjoyed long walks up and down the beach and it is great that you can easily walk over to the casino or into downtown Nassau. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or a high energy location, the Riu is a great spot. We were disappointed about 2 things. One was the lack of complementary shuttle between the airport and hotel. The taxi prices are also ridiculous. We were also disappointed in what seemed to be inflated prices at the Spa and to learn that the “Resort Currency” provided as a bonus extra really only got you a small discount on already inflated prices in the Spa and for various tours. It’s a wonderful resort; just be aware of a couple of things.

Front desk staff was very rude. There was a sign and on the app for requests like a late check out. It is anything but. Late check out is fee based. $40 per person per room per hour. So an extra hour for my wife and I would be $80. Or about the nightly stay amount. Bartender and security staff at the pool were very poor at doing their jobs. There were many very drunk people. One of which tried to punch me. Not once did security do anything. The bartenders kept making and serving drinks while people were very drunk and rowdy. As long as the tips came in the bartenders didn’t care who they were serving. My wife and I had to leave the pool. Many guests were offended and left too. The specialty restaurants would’ve been nice to try. But as soon as we arrived, there was limited or no availability. Lastly the $1200 in credits offered is a ruse. The average discount available is $20 and should have to be used when you spend $400 first for an obscene highly priced items or services. Most of the credits didn’t even apply to the hotel. Very misleading. I have stood at RIU resorts in the past and this place really changed my perception of the quality RIU has to offer. For an all inclusive resort, was anything but.
