"I love the old Hawaiian look that the Wild Ginger Hotel provides. There were no fancy pictures or decorations but what they did have, gave me a sense of old Hawaii. I enjoyed every bit of staying there and I plan on staying there again."

"This little hotel was tucked away in an older, residential neighborhood. At first glance, we were wondering what we got ourselves into. The owner was so very friendly and had our rooms all open with ocean air flowing through. He made a list of his favorite restaurants for us and made us feel as though we were visiting a long lost cousin. The hotel is definitely dated but it was so clean and in great shape. We went to dinner at a Jackie Rays Ohana grill. It was delicious. It was Friday so they had a farmers market across the street with a unique band that played oldies music. I loved the music. When we returned to the hotel, it sounded like tons of birds in the trees and I thought we would never get to sleep. When my husband opened our door, there was a frog standing on our threshold and he hopped right into the house until my husband grabbed it and put it outside. Later the owner told me that the noise we heard was the frogs that had been been brought to the island many years ago. I soon got used to the sound and it was soothing. We slept well in the comfortable bed and nice pillows. Next morning they had fresh banana bread, coffee and fresh papaya for us. I would definitely stay again. I’m "

one bedroom Loft Apartment in the heart of Downtown Hilo

Great location for Hilo and Merrie Monarch

"We were happy to find a place to stay in Hilo during Merrie Monarch because our trip came up late to help at an event. The loft is conveniently located, well kept and stocked with everything one could need. There were even extra cords for phones and a night light. Beds were comfortable. Fans in both rooms kept us cool at night. Important (we think) for folks renting this loft. The floors are uneven which was a bit of a challenge and the door to the entrance to the bath is small for larger humans. If noise is an issue, this place is not quiet at night, and one morning the street cleaner woke us at 5:30 am. We used the Alexa for soft music so that helped. Again this is a good location, clean and well-stocked for needs so we recommend with note of a couple of things. We mahalo this owner"

Great value! Two Bedroom Hilo Condo with air conditioned bedrooms

Two-bedroom in Hilo

"The listing accurately describes the place. The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The kitchen had all the tools I needed to make a few meals here during my stay. The community pool is small but deep and pleasant. It was extremely helpful to have so many laundry machines available for use and right next to the pool. I didn't realize how much I would miss air conditioning throughout the entire apartment, or how hot Hilo could be in Spring time, but that's really a failure to read on my part. The bedrooms got to a pleasant temperature at night, but afternoons in the apartment were very warm. "
