"Hale Honu Steps from the Ocean at Maunaloa Shores Condo in Hilo review. The room booking was easy, and the management company was very responsive before and during our stay. The Condo is well-kept and clean. We had a wonderful time during our stay. This place is right next to Carlsmith Beach Park. I loved getting up in the morning and listening to the birds. At night, I like listening to the coquí frogs. They grow on you. Right behind the building is a dense forest to the right and the beach park to the left. You can go swimming or snorkeling in the ocean very close to the building. Rinse off in the shower and then hit the facility pool. We plan on coming back. It is not too far from downtown Hilo, and the Hilo Airport is very close. Thank you for letting us stay. Mahalo Nui Loa. "

"We enjoyed our stay here. The place was a great stay for 4 of us. Very clean!! Parking spot up front is awesome. There is not an ocean view from patio, only a view of the right side of the pool and garden. Right bedroom has the ocean view. However, you are right on Carlsmith beach when you walk outside. The upstairs neighbors were very, very noisy, banging and slamming on the ceiling throughout all hours of the day and night, but that is not in the hands of the owner. No AC as the listing mentioned, however the provided fans and opening the windows were enough to keep us cool at night. Beach supplies (snorkels, masks, fins) and beach towels were provided. I would suggest more regular towels in general. The washer and dryer on the floor worked great, no issues, just pricey. The shower in the unit has great water pressure. The unit is in a great location, close by to the airport, town, and nearby beaches. The listing contact person was very nice and responsive to my questions prior to the stay. He did accommodate late checkout, but then declined it last minute, the last full day of our stay which was very, very disappointing. He said it was due to the owner scheduling an inspection, which was out of his hands he stated. That would be the only real complaint we had, as it messed up our last day plans. The pictures on the site versus the actual furniture were slightly different, it looked as if they improved the couch and patio furniture. I’d suggest adding 4 chairs on patio. "

"The property was exactly as described. We could not have asked for anything more in our stay. The host thought of everything, down to the drying racks for laundry, snorkel gear, and a pair of binoculars to enjoy watching the activity in the beautiful lagoon behind the property. We stayed in March and were able to leave the windows open for a fantastic breeze the entire time. Would definitely stay here again!"

"The property is in a great location. We loved being next to the beach park with the beautiful view. Very well equipped kitchen. Very nice to have AC in the bedroom, and we had enough breeze and fans to stay cool in the rest of the unit. Our host even messaged us one evening to let us know that the volcano was active. Lovely stay!"
