"We enjoyed the convenience of the close proximity to family, living in Newport News, VA. The Registration staff We’re very friendly and personable. (Rose and Joy). The Hotel was clean and had a nice smell. Rooms were adequate for our needs. Morning breakfasts were a nice variety. However on the downside, there were two ladies that made my husband feel uncomfortable while he was getting breakfast for he and myself, which he brought back to the room. "One of the best Red Roofs I've stayed at in a while. Not much in the area for food/shopping/entertainment etc, however it's only a short easy drive to find. Staff was very kind. Rooms were updated and clean. Bed was a little uncomfortable and noisy but there's really no bed as comfortable as your own. The hotel was very clean and smelled clean as well. We will definitely stay here again. "

"We had an overall great stay. We have stayed at the lodge several times and its always excellent. I would like to point out our room 4313 was very loud. The wood floors creaked very loudly; worst was the guest above us. I could tell they weren't doing anything out of the ordinary, but we could hear every step every text message. I'm not sure how you fix this, but I could never stay under another room again on our next stay. "
