"Bed was comfy and room very spacious. Various compartments in the bathroom were broken including the sink and toilet area as well as a dirty shower. The walls were stained and room smelled of wet mould and urine. Our window didn’t seal properly meaning the wind whistled in the room and was quite noisy. For the price we payed it was ok but we left early as the smell was terrible and overall the room lacked cleanliness and we were a bit grossed out. "This hotel was amazing. The staff and housekeeping were nice and exceptional. The public bath was very nice and there is a separate one for women that they keep a key for at the front. The room met my needs as the area was nice, quiet and calm. As an added bonus, you get views of Mt. Fuji almost everywhere you walk."

"It was a very nice hotel and location for the price(right by an Aeon mall and the main Fujinomiya station). The staff was very friendly and even let me keep my luggage with them after i checked out. Very spacious and comfortable room. 10/10, best hotel i stayed at in Japan so far!"

"Very clean hotel , steps away from North exit of Numazu station. Very convenient. Problem is the reception speak very little English. Pls note that amenities are self service from the reception. Pick your own toothbrush/shaver/comb etc. good idea for sustainability. Breakfast has similar menu every day. Very good for a 3 star inn. "

"I stayed here for two nights after completing the Tokyo Marathon, I could not have chosen a better place to rest, recover and indulge myself. Logistics of getting Care from Tokyo via the romance car ti Hakone, then the opposite platform for the local train ..then 50 paces from the local train station to the hotel shuttle bus, which runs every 20 minutes Could not have been more convenient. The breakfast is out of this world with Weston and Japanese options and dinner was sublime."

"Loved staying at this almost 400 year old onsen! I stayed two nights, which was perfect for me on my little two week solo Japan adventure. My room with the private onsen was clean and spacious. The food… oh my lanta, THE FOOD. Amazing. Different breakfast and dinner every day/night. The service provided by staff like Mr. K Nagashino during service, check-in and check-out, was very hospitable. The private onsen was also a plus for me since I have a lot of tattoos and didn’t want to offend/be disrespectful to anyone (or pay for the patches they had available there since I would of had to buy like 12 lol) by using the public onsens. So I can’t speak on those. But it was very relaxing being able to look out into the mountains of Hakone on a rainy/snowy day from my in-room onsen. Just know that there is a road near those rooms, which didn’t bother me at all. My only hassle was getting there since I took the bus. But the employees at the bus stops/terminals were a big help in addition to using Google maps. Will definitely be back! And would 10/10 recommend!"

"This place is by the last stop in the ropeway. It has impeccable decor and amenities. Recommend getting the in room tub on your balcony. They also have foot bath outside and onsen. The food in the dining area was very good and you get great traditional Japanese attire while you are there. Note: this is far from Odawara. If you come in they have a shuttle 3 times a day if you book in advance. That’s recommended over the city bus."

YuYu Hakone - Private Open Air Onsen Usage Guaranteed

"Great staff: we reached very late at night. The manager was kind enough to extend our onsen reservation for half hour without us asking. He stayed well past the midnight to make sure our onsen experience is complete! We are so grateful to him. Moreover, the facility is much nicer than we expected: Large lobby and living facilities, great decor and the private onsen is out of this world!"
