"The place smelled really bad. Probably from the old carpets that have been used for years and never deep cleaned. Also the sheets had stains on them. The gym had maybe one working machine and everything else was breaking apart. We found other people’s hairs in our bathroom towels. The knife provided was almost unusable and we were awoken by the fire alarm going off at 4 am just to find out it was a false alarm…never coming back."

"The location was perfect. Not too close to the port where it was really busy with people. We loved being able to walk over to the beach or ride the bikes to the pier for shopping and eating. "We stayed Nov 9-12 to play golf at a couple local courses & celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday. The check-in process was smooth, place was clean, view was tremendous, and location is perfect. Waves crashing against the sea wall 15' beneath your feet with an ocean view is the perfect setting. Only complaint is, we tried to get a guest in by leaving his name at the front gate. "Just what we were looking for in a VRBO. The only issue we had was parking. The designated spot was small but our small SUV still fit in the spot for the first 2 days but the last 2 days the neighbor parked over the line and we could not fit our car in. I was unaware who the neighbor was so we were forced to park in the street. It was a busy weekend so we had to park pretty far away and spend extra time finding parking."

"We have stayed on the Peninsula Oceanfront in various rentals for over 50 years. Since this was a last minute plan, our best choice was Casa Balboa on the island. 5 bedrooms were perfect. Neighborhood was quiet and charming. Paddle boarding on the inlet was amazing. Lovely flowers, Balboa bars and bananas were to die for!"

"Perfect location, house was clean and great set up. Loved morning coffee on the balcony. The only downfall is the garage parking space, it is very tight, I highly recommend true compact size car only. Other than that I would definitely rent again in the future."
