" A Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Lisbon! I recently stayed at in Palácio das Especiarias in Lisbon, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Lisbon’s charming streets, historic sites, and vibrant nightlife. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated, offering both comfort and style. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a long day of sightseeing. I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities, from high-quality toiletries to the complimentary coffee and tea. The staff truly made the stay special. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and eager to help with recommendations for restaurants and attractions. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made me feel right at home. Breakfast was another highlight—delicious, fresh, and with plenty of options to suit all tastes. Whether enjoying a morning espresso or indulging in traditional Portuguese pastries, it was the perfect way to start the day. "To review this hotel, is to differentiate between what is feasible within the capacity of the staff and what is beyond them (owners). Areas of strength - Some of the staff were pleasant and helpful. - Breakfast is solid, and quite honestly excellent. - The view from the suites is absolutely stunning. - The manager of the hotel is responsive, considerate and incredibly willing to meet expectations within reason. - Bed is very comfortable. Areas of weakness: - the property in terms of rooms really needs to be refurbished. I came to the conclusion that this had more to do with the owners of the hotel being complacent. - 1 or 2 members of the reception were frankly quite cold and not very service oriented. Perhaps for future safe-guarding all reception staff need a reorientation into how to welcome/treat guests staying at a 4 star hotel. Otherwise, all in all, it was a good stay. - "

"This was our second stay here - we stayed 5 years ago, so it was just as good as last time. I think we had the same superior room which overlooked the road. Great size, very bright and airy (it had 2 large floor to ceiling windows), and nice bathroom (amazingly powerful shower) This hotel is quite quirky, so if you like one of those non descript hotels that are clean and modern without any character, then this is probably not the place for you. If you want somewhere full of character, with friendly helpful staff and great location, this is the place for you. We like our hotels to feel like they reflect the country we are staying in. One thing I would like to suggest - a toaster in the breakfast room."

"Amazing property. Close to everything. In the party district which is lovely if you like lots of energy. We opened our balcony and listened to the party!! If you are like us and pack heavy just be aware Uber and taxi cannot drive in the street so you will need to carry your luggage up the cobblestone street and then up to your apartment if you don’t book the elevator apartments, no issue for us because the price is amazing for what you get. Also breakfast is great included everyday. They drop the food the night before, and fresh local bread on your door in the mornings! Would totally stay again!! "
