"We stayed at Alda Hotel for 7 nights and loved our time there. In addition to the aspects we liked marked above, they have an exceptional front desk staff that kindly takes care and with a warm smile of any questions or requests. One person stood out as an extraordinary hospitality ambassador, Ms Violeta, who is beyond extraordinary. If we return to Reykjavik we will definitely stay here again, mostly so we can enjoy her sincere customer service with a smile. I worked 30 years for a company that served the biggest attractions parks, five star hotels and destination management companies, from my experience of working with the top in the hospitality industry, I recognize greatness in Violeta who exceeds any such standards by far. So much so that she should be training others in this field. Also, the hotel offers a nice breakfast buffet which includes vegetarian options. If you need anything in your room that is not already there, just ask. They will do their best to accommodate you. Also, it is so convenient to walk around, go to bus stop #9 for excursions, and/or call a taxi. It is within walking distance from almost everything worth seeing in Reykjavik, or a non-expensive taxi ride from the others like Sky Lagoon and Perlan Museum. "

"Love hotel halfway between the airport and downtown. The room itself was super comfy (with a lovely bathtub!) and the concierge was very helpful. The breakfast was your typical nice hotel breakfast (eggs, bacon, cold cuts, etc), plus a sampling of exotic meats (e.g. smoked whale). It’s about a half hour walk to downtown if you take the shopping street (just down the road and up to the nearest light and to the right), or maybe 40 min if you take the shore and sculpture walk (which has gorgeous views) — down the road in the other direction. Easy for taxis to get to as well."

"Perfect hotel for 3 nights in Reykjavik! We booked a double room with balcony, but we were disappointed that the bed was smaller than we expected and was right against the wall. Reception staff were lovely and upgraded us to a deluxe room (thank you again)… this room was fantastic. The common areas were ample, warm and inviting. The hotel is right next to the whale boat tours and about 15 minute walk to the centre (but with lots of bars and restaurants to pop into on the way)."

"Stayed here for 6 days with my 4 year old grandson and we had an amazing time. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. The breakfast buffet was great with Western options as well as Scandinavian and Continental. My grandson loved the waffle bar. The location was an easy distance to downtown and all of the tour operators we used as well as the Flybus do hotel pick ups and drop offs there right to the door."

"Amazing property and super friendly and efficient staff ^_^ kronan right across the road and a bonus round the corner , lovely cafe near by too and great transport links , if you dont mind a little walk its not too far from all the main sights ^_^ views are amazing too! Would highly recommend ^_^ "
