We stayed at Alda Hotel for 7 nights and loved our time there. In addition to the aspects we liked marked above, they have an exceptional front desk staff that kindly takes care and with a warm smile of any questions or requests. One person stood out as an extraordinary hospitality ambassador, Ms Violeta, who is beyond extraordinary. If we return to Reykjavik we will definitely stay here again, mostly so we can enjoy her sincere customer service with a smile. I worked 30 years for a company that served the biggest attractions parks, five star hotels and destination management companies, from my experience of working with the top in the hospitality industry, I recognize greatness in Violeta who exceeds any such standards by far. So much so that she should be training others in this field. Also, the hotel offers a nice breakfast buffet which includes vegetarian options. If you need anything in your room that is not already there, just ask. They will do their best to accommodate you. Also, it is so convenient to walk around, go to bus stop #9 for excursions, and/or call a taxi. It is within walking distance from almost everything worth seeing in Reykjavik, or a non-expensive taxi ride from the others like Sky Lagoon and Perlan Museum.
