"The pool was chaotic. It appeared that many locals sneak in to play after school or on the weekend. Learned this firsthand from a mother and daughter one day and another father and son the next. Midweek the pool shenanigan situation was mild and overall had an enjoyable time. Unfortunately things took a turn for the wild side on Saturday. Herds of large families (4-5 children of all ages per group) flocked to the pool. Kids were chucking sand and playing loudly. Having loud kids of my own this is fine - as long as they are paying customers like myself. The hotel is not that large, so you tend to notice those staying at the hotel versus those who pay for a “day pass” or sneak in. Emphasis on the sneak in part due to the lack of Hotel provided wristbands (room keys were also affixed to wristbands). Now kids will be kids - and that’s fine and part of staying at a family friendly resort. What was really insane was on Saturday observing a full blown adult flight attendant walk over to the child’s section of the pool to relieve herself next to where my children were playing in the “sand” section. Considering what I saw was shocking, I walked over to a neighboring sunbather to see if they noticed the same thing to which they confirmed and were in a similar disbelief. Behavior was reported and the attendant was escorted back to her room. Outside of the clientel, the resort was well maintained and the mantas at night were a real treat. Rays by the bay should reopen!!!! "

"What a unique place! The grounds were wonderful. Loved the "new age" vibe. "

"Great ocean view from the large, comfortable porch(lanai). Wonderful breakfast! We had the smaller room but it was sufficient and the living room and lanai were very comfortable to hang out. Bathroom was not in room but just a few steps down the hall and large and private. Jungle road to get there is awesome. A little hard to find at night. Jungle noises, mostly frogs, in evenings was nice. Roosters at 3:30 am not so nice but we got used to it. I had thought from the write up on it that we had use of the kitchen but it didn’t really feel that way but we did have our own small fridge to use. There were coolers and swim and snorkel stuff and beach chairs to use which was great. Easy access to good snorkeling and points south but a lot of traffic to go toward Kona. Overall it was a great place and we would stay there again. Nice hosts. "

"The moment we arrived we fell in love with the home! It was perfect has its for our group of 10 including grandchildren. Grandchildren had room to play, adults could escape to more private areas. Each bdr Has its own bath. The home was clean! Equipped with bigger boards and plenty of sand chairs. We all agreed this was our best family vacation yet. Candi greeted us when we arrived. We will be back!"

"The condo/suit we had was very spacious. Plenty of room for the 6 in our group. The lanai was amazing! Lots of pickle ball courts if you wanted to play. I would recommend staying here. "

"A perfect start to our Hawaii trip! After a long day of travel from the mainland, we arrived at Kona Palace and were warmly greeted by Rebecca. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast served on the lanai with amazingly beautiful views. Rebecca provided fresh fruit from her property (including fresh-squeezed orange juice), homemade granola, eggs, taro rolls, and more. After breakfast, coffee, and good conversation, we were on our way, but I would have loved to have stayed here longer. 5 stars!"
