"There are many reviews saying how wonderful this hotel is - the public onsen (I have tattoos so couldn’t use it), the creative dinners of traditional Japanese cuisine, and the peaceful relaxation. For me, the best parts were the lovely people working there, and the hot tub on the balcony of our room. I have to admit it didn’t feel as private as I’d expected, but there are bamboo privacy blinds which can be pulled down. I also wish I’d asked for extra cushions under my futon mattress. I’m unaccustomed to sleeping on the floor and found it rather hard. The hotel has a view of the lake, but the entrance faces a busy road in a built up area. "

"Loved our stay! We had the private onsen which was amazing but the public ones are great too! Our dinner was a lovely event and the beers and ice cream was a great touch. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend! It’s not far away from Kyoto, about 20min or so on the train. "

"Staff is extremely hospitable and helpful. I really liked how they gave me a ride to the station every morning. Breakfast was also very traditional and delicious. I felt like I got a good Japanese experience staying here, honestly I wish I stayed longer. Definitely planning to make another trip to Japan soon, and I would stay here again in a heart beat! :)"

"This place was cool, and had an emphasis on Americanism, with President roooms including a JFK room. It was really nice to experience! We noticed lot of school kids stayed in the hotel, probably for the American historical context, or that it was just right by one of the main train stops. Either way, the people in this area are all so nice and friendly, way more thab the big city of Tokyo. Genuinely enjoyed our stay around this place, and there's a ton of food options nearby, including a giant mall. The room we stayed in was pretty big, and the hotel staff are very helpful! Definitely reccomend staying here to explore the area, and to go visit Otsu and Koka Ninja House which isnt far from this hotel."

"The location is perfect. Only a two minute walk from the station, completely covered overhead. A plaza is right across from the station. The room is spacious and quiet. Staff is professional and efficient. It was a wonderful stay."
