"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. However, I do need to mention if you are sensitive to smell you might notice the slight scent of smoke. The entire capsule is non-smoking, however there is a smoking room, that when smokers return it...

"It is very strange that you are being locked in the room unless you ask the staff to open , it means every time you go out , you need to ring them ! "I was very appreciative of how spacious and accommodating the products were - especially with providing different options for body wash and skin care. There wasnt a massage chair included as was in the original pictures but as i didnt need for it it wasnt a loss. I would only suggest for the mattress to be changed to a more comfortable one as the one provided was very stiff. Otherwise, the pool/bathtub was a great way to wind down at the end of the day! "
