"We had a wonderful stay at Villa Hakone Stage. The Villa itself is quite spacious (we had a family of three staying) - a welcome change from the cramped living conditions in Tokyo. The villa was clean and very comfortable. The location is right next to both the "pirate" ship port and the ropeway to the top of Owakudani. We arrived via the Romance Car and Hakone Tozan Train from Shinjuku and then caught the Cable Car and Ropeway to the villa (it is a short walk from the Ropeway station). The host was also very quick to answer any questions we had."

The hotel is conveniently located near the the Hakone Ropeway - Togendai Station as well as the Hakone Shrine. Guests can take the ropeway to Owakudani to experience the famous view of Mt. Fuji, hot spring boiled black eggs and souvenir shops, or go further into nearby town Gora where there are many shops and museums. It is also located near Hakone-en, where there is snow sledding and an aquarium for family fun. There is also another ropeway heading up the mountain to a shrine and panoramic view. "This small hotel is cozy. The onsen is beautiful & very enjoyable because it’s private. You have the option of eating at two nearby restaurants with free transportation (included in your meal) . But everything is really far away and either requires 30 min of walking or a minimum of one hour on bus. "
