"It is a historic hotel so expect the look to be a little dated, however, that is what adds charm to it. Overall a comfortable hotel, bathroom not so great (review is for FORESTWING TWIN FOREST SIDE). French restaurant is very nice for dinner as well as breakfast, it feels a little formal but a nice experience. Hotel garden is nice, staff is very helpful."

The only reason I didn’t give this property a five star is that is is old and in need of renovations ( peeling linoleum and water (?) stains in the toilet area. "

"The ultimate form of r e l a x a t i o n Taking local trains to Hakone from Tokyo was relatively easy and well worth the trip for this incredible ryokan. The staff was unbelievable, the open air baths were delightful and peaceful, the kaiseki dinner and breakfast were both exquisite. I hope I get to come back some day!"

"We were a little nervous at first about visiting a ryokan as we wanted to do things correctly and were unsure on how everything worked, but as soon as we arrived all the staff put us at ease and talked us through hows things worked at every stage.
