"Good value for money. Pretty decent room. Extra points for the tiny fridge. Only negative I found was the shower. Water temperature fluctuated and the showerhead itself was the fixed-on-the-wall kind which I don't prefer for better hygiene."

"Visited for one night and we were both very impressed for the price. The staff were all friendly, the room was nice and clean. We stayed DB&B and the breakfast was lovely from the buffet. The evening meal was at The Fat Abbot and this was also really good. Following the meal we sat in the bar at the hotel and ennjoyed a drink in front of the open fire. Liked it that much we are having another night next week."

"We stayed in The Studio. This is across the street from the main hotel (Be careful crossing the road as it is typically busy). The Studio has a small lounge with TV, a small adjoining kitchenette and a metal spiral staircase leading up to a double bedroom with TV and an adjoining bathroom. We enjoyed our stay. We had breakfast in the main dining area which was consistently good. As we were staying for 5 nights we were able to make use of the kitchenette, but we primarily dined in York in the evenings which we walked to along the river paths (about 1.5 miles). Overall it was ideal for our purpose and we would certainly stay there again."

"The service from the recetionist to the bar and canteen staff was amazing, 10/10 in fact, the hotel is very up to date, clean and extremely posh, spa area outstanding and the rooms were huge, food was also a 10, breakfast especially, i will be back and i will be held to this as my kids will not stop askimg me to re book aleady, thankyou all x"

"Nice enough property, with friendly staff. Room was clean but basic, soap dispenser fell off the wall. Food in the restaurant/ bar was good. Public toilet for men was neglected. Plaster falling off the walls, poorly maintained. "
