"Room was spacious and classically furnished. Some of the furniture, drapery, and lobby finishes were a bit worn, but to be expected in an older, historic hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating and spoke English which made check-in and out easier. I would stay at this hotel again. "

The bed was medium soft, just right, plenty of pillows, refrigerator, hair dryer, shampoo and soaps, large TV, 49 channels of state run programming ( Think PBS only 40 stations ) I'd return in a heartbeat."

"We had a suite with a balcony. The room was nice and clean and the bathroom had a deep tub and a Japanese toilet which we always love in hotels. It was about a 10 minute walk to the Bund and the streets often have murals which is interesting and pretty. Breakfast had a choice of local and western foods. The metro is literally across the road and we used it to go everywhere. People Square is a 5 minute walk. It was always busy with lots of people with laminates (I learnt from our reception...

"Location is amazing Linked to a paid park with easy access to vicinity. Lovely architecture and service was impeccable. We stayed in the suite which was very large and fully stocked with amenities. Only feedback we have was the air-conditioning which on query is actually partly centralised. Overall a definite recommendation to stay here when you come to Suzhou. In fact, I'd recommend you explore the hotel and park grounds 1st before you head out to explore Suzhou old town"
