"Yeah, I would say nice try but that is not the case. The Avalon puts its name on classic mid sixties Palm Springs building, charges a high price and calls it a day. The bathroom is like something from a Motel 6: Old tub/shower, mean towels. My room rate was $299. plus all the other fees. I could not find the switch to turn off the patio/balcony light and the front desk explained they could send someone up to unscrew the lightbulb. The lighting in the room comprises solely of 2 hanging...

"Nicely renovated, reasonably priced small hotel within easy walking distance of museums and restaurants. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Only surprise was their not having the breakfast laid out, but they said they would get it for us when we asked. "
