It is very private, but there are great restaurants very close to the house. I would note that the upstairs loft bedroom is beautiful, with the attached living area, but it may not be appropriate for kids or folks with concerns about mobility. "The location of this property is what makes this property so desirable. It is 20 steps from a wonderful grocery store and about 100 steps from two amazing coffee shops. And the beach is about a 5 - 7 min walk. Air condition worked very well. We drank the tap water and no one got sick. Some places in Costa Rica don't allow you to flush toilet paper but this property said we could and we did without any issues. I highly recommend this property. "

"We began communicating with Ben several months out before our vacation. He was very prompt in responding and answered any and all questions for us. When we arrived, everything was set up and ready for us. It was very enjoyable. This is not a five star hotel room, but very accommodating, very close to a wonderful beach and within driving distances of shops and restaurants. It was a great place to stay. If you do go, you must at least take a nap in the hammocks. They are wonderful."

"We loved the house and the help we got from our host when needed. Everything was clean and new. We loved the pool and the house was a great place to stay near some of the better restaurants and the fruit stand in town.My only complaint is that when I booked this it was listed as a “5 minute walk to the beach” which simply isn’t accurate. It’s more of a 10-15 minute walk on the busy Main Street and just not a great walk in general."

"This was our second stay at Casa Del Mar in the past year. Everything was fabulous! Our teen girls loved the resort style private pool and tropical outdoor living area. The house itself is lovely with 3 en-suite bed/baths and adorable bunk room. The house is probably 100 steps to the beach where we loved the tide pools and access to both Playa Langosta (left) and Tamarindo beach (right). Access to the Playa Langosta Beach Club was also a big hit with our teen girls. The sunsets are incredible....

The ride up the hill was expectedly very rough, but what we didn’t realize was how far it was from restaurant and beach areas and how bad the roads were to get there. If you are looking for a spot to just go and chill this is near perfect but you would likely stay closer to Samara if you want more activity. "
