This hotel is a scam. There are no ocean view rooms. The hotel is set back from the beach with large trees blocking the view. The hotel is 3 stories tall so u can’t really see the ocean. It’s a beautiful view, but don’t expect an ocean view if u are paying extra for one. They “upgraded” us to a ground floor pool view with no tub even though we booked an ocean view tub suite. We pushed back and finally got the room we booked but we were disappointed to see there was no ocean view. Additionally, The bathroom had black mold all around the shower floor, the curtains were broken so we had no privacy. The couch in the room was dirty, our bed frame was stained with a suspicious liquid. We were locked out of our room multiple times and had to wait for a technician to open to our door. We saw other guests experiencing to the same thing. No hot water when we tried to shower. Chemicals were poured into the pool while guests were swimming. Breakfast buffet was barely edible. We booked for 6 nights but packed our bags and left 2 days later. They are refusing to refund us for the remainder of our stay but we don’t care because we are so grateful to no longer be in that nightmare of a resort. If you are well travelled and expect a 4 star experience, you will be greatly disappointed. Also please avoid the gym, my husband almost broke his ankle using their treadmill because the treadmill carpet kept sticking and randomly stopping. They also make their workers work 18 hours a day. Terrible.

Azura was a beautiful and peaceful resort with a great beach and wonderfully friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation there and would recommend it to others. That said, the resort as a whole was short-staffed, which resulted in some longer wait times for food and drinks - not a deal breaker, just room for improvement. Also, given Costa Rica is known for its coffee, the coffee at the resort was subpar. Again, just room for improvement, but still a wonderful experience.

The hotel is in a nice location on the West Coast of Costa Rica. It is a smaller hotel. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean, however the daily service in not reliable. Several times they ran out of towels. The only negative point is dining/food. There are very limited choices - 3 restaurants - and some day only 2 restaurants are open. The menu selections are also limited. While the food is fresh and well prepared the wait time is sometimes very long - 3 hours for a 3 course dinner is too long.

The only thing I liked was the aesthetics if the property! 1 The day I checked in they gave me a non ocean view when I booked an ocean view room. They then moved me to a dirty room.They told me there were no more ocean view rooms available . That i would have to wait until the morning. #2 They moved me to another room the next day at around 2 pm. It was so many dirty dishes laying at the front door to the room. This was a partial ocean view. You still can hardly see the ocean. I rented a car through Expedia and I drove 5 hours from San Jaun, Costa Rica specifically for THE OCEAN. #3 I went to book an excursion with guest services and they said They didnt have the equipment to do the Atv tours they advertised. They also didnt have a tour guide for the horse back riding that they advertised. There were other activities they advertised but once we tried to book it would say a minimum of four people could do the tours or activities. They only offered snorkeling, kayaking and a sunset boat. #4 There was never any hot water. I had to shower, wash my hair and shave in cold water. It was not ice cold but It was very cold. #5 They made us walk half a mile to the entry gate from the resort in order to leave for excursions. They did not allow any tour guide to pick us up. did they have any type of transportation to get us back and forth to the entrance.I feel off an atv and was hurt they still made me walk to the resort. This was definitely not the VIP experience that I wanted

The property was beautiful and in a great area. The only feedback is the food service got have been better. The breakfast buffet was the same every day and the service was pretty slow. Other than that it was a great property.

Beautiful location right on the beach, lovely rooms, very friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, drinks and good food, especially in Chill and Grill. Food can take a little long to arrive from time to time but it didn’t ruin our experience. Relaxed all-inclusive experience. PURA VIDA! We were a family of six adults and would absolutely go back!

The staff and service were excellent. We came at the beginning of the tourist season so we almost had the resort to ourselves. Staff made sure we always were well fed and drink in hand. Truly a gem. Also, fast WiFi was great for the rainy days where we lounged on the deck watching movies.

Resort has limited choices for food. Dinner was usually good because you have 2 restaurant options. In their website they advertised lunch and dinner buffet which is not true. Only breakfast buffet, which wasn’t every day either. Lunch is very limited, it is a la carte and on the same restaurant Chill and grill. Bad management trying to save money on food. Rooms is very musty and smell mold. My bathroom sink had mold in the corners and in the drain. A/C leaked all over my room on the first day. I wouldn’t go back. Staff is the best part of this resort. They are all amazing and work very hard.
