"Breakfast was the highlight each day, great choices. Dorms were okay, but did smell like they were cleaned with dirty water some days. The atmosphere was a bit strange, this is not your usual hostel, it is also a family’s home. Their children would be screaming and shouting and watchingTV in the common area really very loud. "Wonderful staff. The place itself is very well located, but the bunkers are not very solid and are made from light wood (I was on the top one and all night waking up because every time the guest underneath me moved, the whole bed moved too). The communal shower is also very tight. Overall, budget friendly for backpackers who don't mind a certain degree of discomfort "

"Friendly staff, great location in Ipanema.Lots of hangout spots around the property and 2 desktop computers for guest use. Large lockers. Only negative- credit card required for incidentals. They type the number into their system, which I was uncomfortable with but the staff showed me the number became masked after manual entry"

"Scam. Says single rooms, but that's a bunk bed in a 9-person form. Showers don't work and is absolutely filthy."

"Staff were amazing! Helpful and friendly. Can arrange airport transfer for you. They all spoke English very well. There is a common area downstairs with a bar and free filtered water and lots of plugs to charge your electronics. The bunk beds were a little scary, very unstable. You only get two sheets and a pillow case so if you get a free blanket on your airline keep it! There is one plug in each bed spot. Rooms are air conditioned. It was a little expensive for a shared room with bunk beds but...

"Wayyyyyy too much going on there. I ended up booking another hotel. It may have been because it was NYE weekend. I will shout out the manager. She was extremely nice and helpful. I really commend her for handling everything. She definitely deserves a raise!! "

"All things considered, this is a really good hostel. I mean, first of all it's really cheap. You can easily get a bed for 6 quids. Sure you have to pay for other things like towels or padlocks but they are also really cheap. Drinks are pretty good also. I was surprised that I had AC on the room, most hostels in Brazil don't have them. And this is very important because it's really hot in Rio. You wouldn't believe how hot it gets, even at night. And most important: wifi works. As in really works...

"Lennon and the rest of the staff were great. The hostel is in Leme, close to Copocabana, but has some limited transportation. The hostel itself was well maintained, and the other guests were enjoyable to spend time with. Overall I recommend this Hostel"

"I rate this property as average because in all honesty, it's not shown as it really looks in real life, you'll be staying at the oldest building in the area, even though you're in the best area for beaches and restaurants, consider that you'll get what you're paying for. We had a misunderstanding with the check in so i recommend having your schedule well planned out. "Our stay at Hotel Nacional Rio de Janeiro OFICIAL proved to be great, we only wished we could have stayed longer. The ocean view from our room was utterly amazing. The suite was spacious and well designed. We spent a lot of time out in the town, however the highlight of our stay was phonmenal bartender named Wanderson, he took pride in service and even more in his cocktails. We would definitely recommend this property. "

Relax and enjoy the view.

"The hotel is classically beautiful with its spacious rooms, colourfully and tastefully decorated. I'm not surprised many celebrities have stayed there! The bed is super comfortable and the blackout blinds left all the day light outside so we could have a nice lie in the next morning. The hotel is super clean and tidy. They offer you a glass of champagne upon arrival making you feel very welcomed. The staff are really friendly and helpful, they go an extra mile to ensure you're satisfied. The pool area is just gorgeous with the colourful parasols contrasting with the pure white of the building around it! Very romantic. The location is wonderful, you just have to cross the road to be at the iconic Copacabana beach. It was throughout a fantastic experience and we'd love to be back again soon. "
