"Newly renovated. Steps to the beach and nice restaurants such as the Bakery. The pool is a bit small but sufficient for a lazy day away from the beach. The young staff is super professional and friendly. David helped us settle in and throughout our stay listened patiently to my broken Spanish. Louis helped us book a ferry ride at Playa Naranjo because the website is in Spanish only. We hope to revisit some day"

"Thank you for 3 beautiful days!! One of our favorite places we stayed while in beautiful Costa Rica. We loved the property and the views were incredible. There is a beautiful deck overlooking the ocean we sat on for breakfast and dinner. The pool was so refreshing too! The bed was very comfortable. We saw so many birds, monkeys and iguanas during our stay. We hope to be back!"

"We loved the property itself however it was difficult getting into the parking as it is a very narrow dirt road with large bumps, the water was also not working and we needed tubs of water to flush, now sink water or shower water. Views were incredible! "

"We stayed at 2 places on our family trip to Costa Rica. This was the second (first was on the Caribbean side). This location is remote, and off the main road so you will need a 4X4. But that is exactly what we wanted and that is exactly what we got! Unbelievable view. Great deck, plenty of room for a family of 5. It was not on solar when we were there which to me was a plus as we did not have to worry about running the dishwasher, etc. The washer was not working, which was a disappointment. But things break so you just deal. Dave was responsive and tried hard to get it going, which we appreciated. If I had to find something we did not like, it is very minor. Several of the light switches were broken or not operational. But, we managed just fine and it was not a big enough deal for me to call Dave. Some of the screening had holes and some screen doors show their age. But again, it was manageable and was not a deterrent in any way. Just an observation. Dave was great and responsive on any inquiries He set us up with a sweet captain to go fishing and, unfortunately, when we had some stomach issues, he recommended a great pharmacy. Overall this was a really nice and enjoyable experience. You will love the view and all the peace and quiet that comes with this beautiful home. Would stay there again for sure!"

"but do be prepared for a wonderful, fascinating experience. This is an older/rustic retreat. If you're looking for an air-conditioned fancy facility, this isn't for you. But trust me, the sometimes harrowing drive to the tip of the peninsula will lead you to a memorable stay. Paradise with an ocean view. The place is called the Howler Monkey Hotel because, guess what, the monkeys will wake you early. The ocean was very warm to swim in at high tide, and the pool cool and refreshing. James, the owner, is great, very kind and knowledgeable about the area."
