"Booked this hotel out of necessity because we wanted to do the bioluminescence tour in Castine (also highly recommend) and the Bucksport Inn just happened to be conveniently located. So glad we did! First, the service was exceptional. They called us the morning of our reservation to inform us that the TV in our room was broken, but to offer a different type of room (2 queens vs a king). We declined because we didnt care about the TV. Not only was I impressed with their kind communication, but upon check out they informed us they took 10% off our bill for the inconvenience. As to the inn itself, I love it. It's the kind of classic motor lodge you'd seen in old movies, except beautifully maintained and updated. I love that the rooms feel new and clean, but maintain their old charm. From the physical key to your room, to the mercifully untouched bathrooms which have what appears to be the original tile and fixtures, but are all sparkling clean. Highly recommend! "
