"Loved the hotel, welcomed by very personable and kind doormen who were so friendly and attentive throughout our whole stay. The room was lovely and very spacious! Pool was busy but still nice! The location was also great, which a short walk over the river into the centre of York and the hotel was a perfect get away from the busy streets after a day walking around. Only negatives would be the foyer and welcome - it was very busy and queues up to the door! There needed to be a more efficient...

"We loved staying at this hotel......as soon as we walked in it smelt clean and fresh. Its location is great.....literally 2 mins from the shops and local restaurants. We walked around till about 9pm and felt extremely safe especially with having our children with us. The light show at the Minster is a must......WOW....it was amazing! We have stayed many times in York before but now we've just found our favourite hotel and at a great price."

"Very central property, very convenient for visiting the city. Not quite the 5* we expected but was ok for one night. Our room was down under ground level with an interesting view over gutter pipes and it was quite noisy - both from inside and outside the hotel. We only booked one night, it is unlikely we would have stayed longer than this."
