"on arrival the room was nice on the 11th floor with views of river.we went out for a meal and arrived back about 9pm.the hotel has a bar above this floor and we heard every footstep and dancing above us and the music was as loud as if we were at the club.people were in and out of the lifts on our floor to go upstairs.there was no control with these people as they came from the street and were not guests at the hotel.so asked reception to move us.this they did thankfully. the hotel staff are...

"Booked for one night only. Checked in quite late in the evening, which wasn't a problem. Friendly reception staff. Comfortable room and no noise issues despite being on main road opposite train station. Only issue was that after going for early morning stroll my room key wouldn't work when I returned to hotel. there was a staff member in the corridor but they said they could not open room and I'd have to go to reception. Got lift from 5th floor down to reception and they recharged keys. ...

"Breakfast buffet was well presented and delicious scrambled eggs. The view from my window was not the best overlooking the bin but it was a compromise from the booking price I think"

"The hotel is well situated from Durham city, about 10-15 minutes drive to either The Riverwalk or Walkergate very central car parks. The family room (3 people) was comfortable, cleaned every day and spacious. The hotel has a great Thai restaurant and pub/bar (food and drinks in both areas, affordable prices). The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended."
