"Good location for airport"

"This was our first time staying in Tamarindo, and Agustín made sure that our trip was perfect. We will definitely be back to stay at Refugio Lodge. Agustín goes above and beyond to help arrange everything you need during your stay - from transportation, to outings like surfing and crocodile tours. He also made a point to tell us about good spots to visit, and interesting things happening nearby, such as the night market that is just down the street on Thursdays. "Overall a great little spot. The staff are very friendly and the place is very clean. It's a 5 minute walk from all the action which is a good thing, generally being in a quieter area. I would have rated this a 5 except we did not learn about the construction next door until a few days before our visit, and construction started promptly at 6 AM each morning. The air conditioning in our unit (#1) was just passable at 24C and somewhat noisy when the condenser cut out (or maybe kicked in?). There...

"Shannon was an excellent host. Nice breakfast each morning sat above the pool area. Our bungalow was clean and comfortable with daily maid service. A few minutes walk to the lively town and beach where all the action of Tamarindo is going on. The pool was great to cool down and relax in the hammocks and day beds under the shade. The bungalows are an excellent small, homely oasis to chill out and escape the corporate world. We would stay again with Shannon and her lovely staff. "

"Great place, great value, great location, great breakfast. The pool was a bit small, but the ocean and beach are only minutes away. TV was poor, if that's important to you. Stayed for 6 nights. "

"Pretty remote location about two hours from the airport. Roads are horrible or non existent. Nice pool. Electricity was out for 8 hours with no generator. Nice breakfast every morning. A couple of decent restaurants in walking distance , nothing fancy but food was good . Lola’s right on the beach and Gregarios. Only a three minute walk to the beach. Hosts were friendly, welcoming and informative. "
