"We loved it, beautiful villa with lovely views, s9 peaceful, well thought out provisions and a generous welcome pack. We had a lovely stay. Local village Plaka had a small selection of nice tavernas and Almyrida a further lovely choice with a good sandy beach, pretty views and not overly touristy. My only slightly negative point is that it was described as a short walk to local shops and tavernas. This was a 5-7 minute drive to Plaka and a further 5 minutes drive to the beach, all downhill there and uphill on way back. We did not attempt to walk it but i would not consider it a short or easy walk at all. For us car was essential, which we had but didn't necessarily want to have to drive every day. "

"This was our first week of 4 in Crete and what a start! All our places we stay have a lot to live up to! George and Nana were the perfect hosts and the accommodation was just as we hoped for and wanted. We we out and about everyday enjoying the surrounding area, travelling as far as the south coast and enjoying many walks and beaches. Lots of places to eat out but the apartment kitchen was so well equipped that it was a pleasure to eat in too! Thanks for the homemade raki, the gift and a bottle of bubbly for my 60th birthday next week! A wonderful stay "

"Spectacular views. Spacious villa - super clean. Angelina was super-helpful - was there to meet us in the dead of night when our flights had been delayed - there's a great BBQ - the kitchen's great - you'll enjoy yourselves - but you do need a car!"

"The highlight is the view across to the peninsula. It is stunning! And there are plenty of places from which to enjoy it. Sitting in the shade by the villa, on sun loungers round the pool, in the pool or from various balconys. Location: halfway between Rethymnon and Chania make it great for airport or ferry. Short walk to Plaka (5 mins) with good supermarkets and one very good taverna and a couple of other OK ones. Slightly longer walk (15 mins) down to Almyrida with more choice of tavernas and two or three small beaches. Good taxi service back up the hill if you don't want to walk. NB. The driveway down to the villa is steep for those with walking difficulties Rooms: All great. Most with ensuite. Two rooms share a bathroom. All but one have great views across the sea and have their own balconies. The master suite is amazing with windows on all sides, a large dressing room and bathroom (with bath and shower). Perfect for us with 20+ year old 'children', their partners, parents and a grandparent. Lots of space and privacy for us all so we didn't feel we were living on top of each other Living areas: large and spacious, outside and in, with lots of places for us all to sit together or in smaller groups. Kitchen very well kitted out, with everything you could imagine to cook with (only a four ring hob, slightly surprising for such a large villa but was fine for us) Management: Alexandra responsive and Carina was v helpful day to day "

"My wife and I stayed 9 nights at Bay View Villa1, and wished we could have stayed longer. The villa is compact, not overlooked and perfect for two people, but could easily house four. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The view over Souda Bay is incredible. A short walk will take you to the village of Kokkino Chorio with its friendly taverna and well stocked shop. We spent most of our time chilling by the lovely pool, but occasionally ventured out to the nearby coastal village of Almyrida, where there were a number of very good restaurants by the sea. We particularly liked Thalami and Psaros, but there were plenty more to try. Almyrida also had an excellent pharmacy, where all the staff spoke English. If we ever came to this part of Crete again, we would definitely stay at Bay View Villa 1."

"Really lovely villas and large pools. Could do with slightly more foliage in between villa terraces for added privacy and the cleaner should sweep when changing towels etc..other than that the owners were extremely friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here. Definitely need to rent a car. "
