"The villa lies just outside the village of Vámos, which has a great selection of restaurants and cafes. It is ideally located a short drive to the lovely local beaches to the North and Chania and Rethimno both a short drive away. We loved the outside space and pool area, which offered spectacular views towards the White Mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks at the villa and hope to return to further explore the area. "

"The stay was very good. The villa was clean, we were provided some drinks and fruits. It’s a bit out in the village with some narrow winding roads. We were a group of 10 and were given kids single foldable beds which when we spoke to the Christos the manager and Mrs Frosso the manage to replace with proper single bare. The pool was very good and spent some time in there. We had a chef cook breakfast for us and BBQ for one night which allowed us to enjoy the villa and go around places. The villa is out in the village and you need a car to drive up and down. Overal the experience was great and would do another girls trip"

"Great villa that was a good size for 10 people. Pool was fantastic and the children spent hours playing. The added bonus is the cleaning service that came in twice during our 9 night stay. I’m glad we had a car so we could see more of the island although the closest village of Almyrida is only 20 minutes walk away that offers everything you need on holiday."

"Lorraine & Stuart were fantastic hosts before & during our stay. A beautiful property with lovely views across to Chania & White Mountains. Very comfortable and amazing pool. (Largest we have had to date). Everything you could need is available making it a home from home experience. Lots of places to discover just a short car journey away including restaurants and beaches as well as supermarkets all in easy reach. "

"Our family and friends enjoyed the beautiful view and pool. Frankie and the housekeepers are super helpful, attentive and friendly. Be prepared for the mosquitos as they are relentless. We would recommend this villa if you are looking for a place that is quiet (you may hear some goats and sheep), close to a few beaches, and has a spectacular view!"

"I stayed here with my adult son and after a little trouble finding it at night, we were thrilled with the size and privacy of the villa. With 3 double bedrooms it meant my son had the whole ground floor to himself. The living room and kitchen were huge and the vaulted wooden ceiling and wall to wall views over the White mountains very impressive. We were welcomed with fruit, beer and wine and I had requested some milk for morning tea, which was kindly provided too. All communication with Christos and Mrs Froso was speedy, friendly and helpful and Mrs Froso was a delight to meet and chat to a couple of times and she couldn't do enough for us, without being the least intrusive. She asked us to let her know when it would be convenient to clean, rather than just turning up and we appreciated that. We didn't use the dish washer as we mainly ate out and because there were only 3 mugs, although plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery etc. The fridge freezer was huge and kept things really chilled. The choice of cofee machine was great too. We loved the area around the pool for our more leisurely days and it felt quiet and secluded although on the edge of the village. It was great to have beach towels provided for a change. Gavalachori is a beautiful hillside Greek village with hiking trails. The walk down to the local shops and wonderful taverna was perfect and the short hill back up to the villa helped us walk off our feasting! The tranquil Venetian Wells site was very close by too"
