"Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities seemed a little tired and ready for renovation. Short drive but long walk (1.5 miles) into town for restaurants ( breakfast, dinner, etc). Hotel is located close to volcanic springs so location is particularly smelly (sulphur fumes etc). Could be viewed as adding to charm/adventure or being a detraction, depending on personal taste. "

"This is a very pretty, instagram able hotel. It is clean and the staff was very nice. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that the rooms do not have a deadbolt, chain, or other way for someone inside the room to lock the room so that a hotel employee with a key cannot enter. This is a dealbreaker for me - I would not have stayed here if I had known. The reason is that years ago in another country a hotel employee entered my room with a key and assaulted me. "Beautiful property surrounded by trails to hike in the forest. Really unique lodge we were very glad we stayed. Plus was the spa and lovely outdoor hot tubs. While the meals were okay but not great, we enjoyed the social hour and meeting the other guests. Lodge rooms were smaller than expected. Beware that it is a long windy drive in and out of the hotel. "
