"We went in the bar for pre dinner drinks and tried to pay on the room and were informed this is not possible which was a shame and not usual for this type of hotel. Time for dinner was prebooked and we arrived and we’re shown to our table. Food was lovely but whole meal was spoilt at the end when my husband ordered a liquer coffee. "Stayed for two nights last week and everything was great: clean room, well-appointed with fridge, hair dryer, etc., easy parking, close to everything. The best thing is the young staff who made us feel very welcome. Compliments to the bartender, Minty and Nick the manager, who was very well informed about the local attractions and who helped us plan a plan a route to see the interesting churches, ruins, palaces, and pubs nearby. I will recommend a stay here to all friends visiting Winchester."
