"Beautiful surroundings, able to walk freely enjoying the scenery. The property itself was lovely apart from a few mishaps inside the room for staff to consider. Part of the panelling that separated the dining area and living room space was a constant trip hazard, this was extremely dangerous, also the living room radiator was continually on making staying in the room extremely uncomfortable with to much heat. Apart from that the living quarters were good."

"Love this Hotel. Recommend getting a cell on 'A block' upper levels. There's something very cool about exiting your room onto the prison landing with all the cells lined up. Very nicely appointed rooms, a nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast was top notch. Town and station are minutes away on foot. Be sure to check out the original cell on the ground floor or visit the old jail museum next door. "

"The Bear is in a fantastic and convenient location for both Woodstock village and Blenheim Palace. All the Staff we encountered were excellent and helpful (as always! Especially the reception staff and Breakfast staff. We had an outside room in the area next to the car park which are larger and more modern than some of the rooms in the main hotel (on this stay the room was faultless room).
