"Claire - Reception Desk made us feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door, she made my birthday special by taking care of the car park fees and gave me a complimentary gift for my birthday. The surroundings are clean and elegant. The bedroom was very clean, spacious and quiet. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the dinner menu is limited, needs to offer more options for vegans, vegetarians and pescaterians. "advertised food when you want, when enquired about this on 2 separate occasions was informed by the bar staff that they don't serve any food before 5pm and after 9pm but you can order a takeaway, this was at 4.50pm and 9.10pm"

"We had a fantastic time at Downhall, which is a beautiful property with lovely grounds. A big thank you to every single member of staff that we came across, as everyone was friendly and helpful. But a massive thank you to the lady (duty manager) who helped my family . She changed rooms for us, upgraded some of the rooms, so our 5rooms would be close to one another. Can’t wait to go back👍"

"A smart hotel, with pleasant surroundings. Food in the restaurant was excellent, and very reasonably priced. The planes to and and from Stansted were regular, but we were aware of this before our stay, and it didn’t cause us any issues. "
