"Everything was great although the bar was closed by the time I arrived at 11.20. A bit of a shame that, as I would have liked a drink. Also, I have a CPAP machine and it was a bit of a faff to plug in as the plug was under the TV opposite the bed, rather than by the bedside. Overall, though, most impressed, staff were friendly and well-presented and the room was clean and well-maintained. The inclusive breakfast and the double-door that closed either toilet or shower was a nice touch. "

"Used to come here regularly in the past. Shops and Restaurants are all within walking distance. Parking is possible nearby too but there was work going on at this time so parked in the multi-storey which is a short walk. Normally a bit cheaper if booked with the hotel directly. Need to pay in the car paek. Not sure if this is the new way forward but not a tragedy. Reception Team were great as before. Friendly and welcoming. Super breakfast with good hot options. Nothing too much trouble...

Datchworth Green: The Whipping Post The small plaque on the post states that it was last known to have been used on 27 July 1665 when two vagabonds were publicly flogged here. (Please note that the true co-ordinates of the post are TL 2687 1825, but that plots in the middle of the road, so I have amended them slightly to fit the mapping better.)
