"Rooms showing signs of needing updating, initial room didnt have A/C /heating working, so we were upgraded to a junior suite. A/C and heating worked in new room but no radiators or heating situated in the bathroom which seemed strange in this day and age. Also shower showing signs of needing a refurb quite mouldy in places. "The hotel is on a side street off a large shopping street, but toward the end of that strip of stores. A couple blocks away things become more lively. We were glad for the quiet. The room was absolutely lovely with a spa-like bathroom, comfortable furniture, plentiful linens, tea and coffee makers. The food down at the bar was pricey and a little inconsistent, but generally good to terrific. We never had anything bad there. My one comment would be about the charming old staircase up to the...

"The service and little touches especially for the kids (kids corner, a token for the kids to spend at the bar to get a choice from a list of chocolates, activity pack, juice etc), free cookies and still water that was topped up daily, lovely buffet breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Great gym and indoor pool all included in the price "

"We had a really lovely large room which was much appreciated. Great location for shops, restaurants. some initial problems with parking which was quickly resolved. This was our second stay at the Novotel. Would stay again "

"Large comfy room, good selection of teas and coffee in room. Reception staff were fantastic throughout. Bar area nice and clean, good selection of beers and spirits. Food okay, nothing special but not bad. Not a huge fan of 12.5% service charge added to food orders particularly in a restaurant that mostly offers more ‘snack’ type food (pizza burgers etc) "
