"The room was beautiful. One of the reasons we chose to upgrade was for the roll top bath but the bathroom was really cold. The whole room was pretty cold but the bathroom floor was very cold. We were due to get robes and slippers but only had 1 pair so had to share. Im assuming it's cold due to the windows being old with them wanting to keep with the traditional feel but you shouldn't feel too cold to get changed when you're staying in a nice hotel. "Check in was slow due to the amount of rooms having to be turned. We actually prebooked room but was allocated another amd had to wait for it to be turned over. When enquired our original choice was available. Other than that the hotel as great"

"Enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay at the Mercure Fairfield Manor Hotel. Warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Very straightforward check-in and then to our room which was spacious and everything to our liking. We ate evening dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast in the a.m was also excellent ... So many choices to suit everyones tastes. Staff were very professional and friendly. We would definitely visit again if staying over in York. Ideally placed geographically...

"Lovely hotel, really easy check in. I’m a wheelchair user the lift is a little tight for a larger wheelchair and another person but doable, just. They didn’t have a wheelchair accessible room for 3. But the room we stayed in was large and I was able to get in with my chair. The bathroom wasn’t big enough to get my chair in . The hotel was clean, smells lovely, room was clean apart from mould on the nets."

"Lovely weekend break in a lovely hotel. The staff were very pleasant and efficient, room was spacious, comfortable, homely and clean. Everything we needed was provided in the room. We had breakfast for which we booked a slot the day before. We were 10 minutes late and there was no space for us in the main dining area but we were seated in a side room opening onto the main area, which we didn’t mind at all as it was pleasant . All in all a lovely stay, we would definitely return "
