"Lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere and good food. The main hall is beautiful and public areas lovely. The staff were very attentive. I stayed in the "weavers". The rooms are dated but immaculate. Couple of areas do need attention though - the bed was absolutely rock hard - beautiful bedding didn't make up for that. It was a windy night and the modern sash windows rattled all night. "

"Hotel had ample free parking for residents. Bedroom was clean and tidy but the lighting is mostly provided by bedside wall lights or angle poise lamps. As a result the room was somewhat gloomy. Dining was available in the bar, tables were somewhat low. Food choice was good. Breakfast was a good choice. Staff were efficient. Hotel entrance was spoilt by the abundance of cigarette butts on the floor and plant containers. "

"Fantastic room, food and facilities - thank you for a great stay (rare to have an extensive spa and bowling alley!). Pay for extra facilities; yet the room rate was relatively cheap. Staff were very nice in some areas but weren’t so friendly at reception when checking in sadly. All-in-all, a good visit!"

"we booked the fireworks night which was great but the hotel on booking the accommodation did not explain very well ,as we understood the outside catering was not included and the food on sale from the hotel was very very poor. I feel there should have been a a small choice of bar food for those of us that did not want their evening meal in a bun .Im sure there was enough staff in the kitchen to do that as the out side food was not good . "

"It was a very nice place and we enjoyed our stay, Only issue was the middle of the bed wasn't very comfortable because of the bumps created by joining the beds together. Also not as clean in some areas of the bathroom. Other than that it was a lovely hotel."
