We slept with a sound machine which made it no problem. Location was worth the trade off. Double shutters to balcony door blocked out all natural light during the day, so it's all all or nothing situation. We kept them closed all the time to avoid letting bugs in. "The Cigno Hotel is a beautiful oasis in central Merida. The room was large, beautifully appointed and well air-conditioned. The food at the restaurant was excellent-modern Mexican cuisine. We felt one of the best part of the experience was the staff. They were friendly, helpful and very gracious. You cannot go wrong staying at this excellent small hotel.
